Taxonomy:
Whiptail Lizard Family (Teiidae). Formerly Cnemidophorus sonorae.
Where to Find: Don't look for Sonoran Spotted Whiptails around Las Vegas. Rather, look for them in upland habitats (oak-woodland, oak-grassland, riparian woodland, desert scrub, and thorn scrub) in the southwestern United States and northwestern Mexico (southeastern Arizona, southwestern New Mexico, and south to northeastern Sonora). |
