Panamint Mountains Buckwheat is an uncommon component of vegetation communities in the Upper Sonoran (Mojave Desert Scrub and Pinyon-Juniper Woodland) and Transition (Yellow Pine Forest) life zones and can be found on higher bajadas and middle slopes in the mountains.
