Hole in the Wall Campground

Overview

Hole in the Wall Campground, located at 4,400 feet elevation, is the warm and sunny campground in the Preserve. Surrounded by sculptured volcanic mountains and grand views, the campground makes a great basecamp for hikers. Thirty-five campsites accommodate RVs and tents, and 2 more sites are walk-in.

Facilities include vault toilets, trash cans, drinking water, fire rings, picnic tables, and a dump station, but there are no utility hookups. Fees are $12 per night ($6 with a Senior or Access Pass), but can only be paid online via Pay.gov (search for Mojave Preserve). All campsites are first-come, first-served; no reservations (so pre-payment does not guarantee a campsite).

Hole-in-the-Wall Visitor Center, located a short walk away, has flush toilets, running water, and electricity. Public Wifi is also available 24/7 to make Pay.gov payments.
