The Railroad Tunnels Casino Trailhead, also referred to as the Hoover Dam Lodge Trailhead because it is located behind the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino, is located in Lake Mead National Recreation Area, not far from the Visitor Center off Highway 93.
From town, drive out to Lake Mead. Drive south on Highway 93, through Boulder City, pass the Lake Mead Visitor Center, and continue to the Hoover Dam Lodge and Casino. Just past the casino building, turn left into the casino parking lot and drive back to the fence (Table 1, Site 1879). Park here; this is the trailhead.
The Historic Railroad Casino Trailhead provides access to a scenic overlook and the Railroad Tunnels Trail. For the overlook, walk through the gate and turn left following the old road that contours out around the nearby rocky knob. For the Railroad Tunnels Trail, walk through the gate and turn right. Follow the fence until the trail curves left and descends towards the lake below for 0.3 miles to a T-intersection with the Railroad Tunnels Trail.
The standard trailhead for this trail is located on Lakeshore Blvd.
