The route down (view NE from just below the summit) |
Overview
Frenchman Mountain is the highest peak in the craggy mountain range that forms the eastern border of the Las Vegas Valley. The range is composed of two peaks: Sunrise Mountain to the north and Frenchman Mountain to the south. The hike follows a very steep road, but view from the summit are iconic Las Vegas: dense urban on one side and wild Mojave Desert on the other.
Presented here are photos of the descent. For a description of the route, including maps and GPS coordinates, see Frenchman Mountain. |
